History of Vedic Maths

Vedic Maths is an ancient system of mathematics that finds its origins in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of India, believed to be composed over 5,000 years ago. This unique system was rediscovered in the early 20th century by Jagadguru Swami Bharati Krishna Tirthaji Maharaj, a scholar and former Shankaracharya of Puri.

Between 1911 and 1918, Tirthaji derived 16 Sutras (formulas) and 13 Sub-Sutras from the Atharva Veda, which cover nearly all branches of mathematics—arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and more. These formulas provide simple, fast, and intuitive techniques to solve complex math problems with ease and mental clarity.

In 1965, his work was compiled and published as the book “Vedic Mathematics,” which sparked global interest. Since then, Vedic Maths has been celebrated for its ability to enhance speed, accuracy, and mental agility, making math a joyful and empowering experience for learners.

At Walnut Excellence Education, we proudly bring this timeless knowledge to today’s students, using modern, engaging methods to help them build confidence and excel in life.
